Scrapheap Collective is a London based non profit experimental art collective working across participation, performance, moving image, game and interactive systems.
Our practice focuses on collective experience, open processes, and forms of interaction that emerge through play, instruction, and participation.
We create situations for participation, interaction, and collective response. The work unfolds through the presence, actions, and interpretations of those who enter it.
Interaction, for us, is not merely engagement. It is a way of rethinking how people relate to one another, to space, and to their surroundings.
The collective embraces the unfinished, the improvised, and the discarded. The name Scrapheap reflects an interest in gathering fragments, materials, and encounters into temporary forms that remain unstable and open to change.
Each project is activated through participation and shaped by the unpredictable presence of those who enter it.
